Design & build
We build the farm we run.
Shroomy designs and builds indoor mushroom farms — built for the tropics. In Kuala Lumpur the hard problem is heat and excess humidity, not cold, and our own working farm proves the design out every day.

Our own working farm already supplies

How we work
Five phases, from a free site visit to ongoing support
No off-the-shelf temperate design copy-pasted into KL. We start with your site's own data.
- 01
Site analysis
Free · ~1 week
Access, utilities and environmental data capture at your site — no cost, no commitment.
- 02
Technical consultation
~6 weeks
We weigh your site data against historical weather and produce a full farm design: layout, fruiting plan and climate-control spec.
- 03
Deployment
~6–8 weeks
Equipment procurement, construction of the lab, fruiting chamber and workspace, our in-house fully automated climate-control build, install and calibration.
- 04
Technical training
Included
Mycology and cultivation, agricultural management, equipment operation, and lab/sterile technique — for your team, on your farm.
- 05
Handover & support
3-month warranty
A dedicated handover week, a 3-month warranty on the build, and ongoing support after that.

Built for the tropics
The hard problem in KL is heat and excess humidity — not cold.
We don't retrofit a cold-climate design for the tropics. We run a profitable grow in exactly this climate, and design every farm from that same cooling-and-dehumidification-first spec.
Cooling, not heating
KL runs 27–40°C outdoors year-round. Every design starts from cooling and humidity control — not a heating spec borrowed from a temperate playbook.
Dehumidification as the baseline
Ambient humidity here is already near-saturated. We build mechanical dehumidification as the floor, then fine-tune with exhaust and air mixing for pinning vs. maturing.
Fresh-air exchange that doesn't waste the cooling
Mushrooms need fresh air to avoid long stems and deformities — our climate-control spec recovers that cooling and dehumidification instead of dumping it with every air change.
The concept
A 9×6m indoor farm, fully specced
Grow chamber, prep and air-treatment room, a display window for guests, in-house climate control, and eight grow racks — this is the base layout our packages build from.

Indicative packages
Two starting points
Every site is different, so these are starting points to plan around, not a final quote — WhatsApp us your site details for a proper quote.
Indoor Farm Display
A fully built and calibrated grow chamber, display window, racking and in-house automated climate control — ready to fruit on-site.
- Grow chamber + 8 grow racks
- Display window for guests
- Fully automated climate control (cooling, dehumidification, FAE)
- Install, calibration & technical training
Indoor Farm Display + On-site Laboratory & Substrate Treatment
Everything in the Display package, plus a dedicated lab and substrate-treatment workspace so you can produce your own spawn and blocks on-site.
- Everything in Indoor Farm Display
- On-site laboratory (inoculation, sterile technique)
- Substrate treatment workspace
- Extended lab & sterile-technique training
Ongoing consumables
Once your farm is running, keep it stocked with ready-to-fruit blocks — the same spawn and block supply line we run for restaurants and other farms. See the full supplies list →
After the build
Design-build clients become recurring supply customers.
Once your farm is running, you'll need spawn, substrate and blocks to keep it fruiting — that's our mycology supplies line, built from the same lab.
